Acupuncture & physiotherapy
Acupuncture is one of the many skills employed by trained physiotherapists as part of an integrated approach to the management of pain and inflammation. Elaine is fully qualified to use acupuncture as part of her physiotherapy practice and is registered with the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP).
AACP members combine the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine with scientific evidence as a means of reducing pain and promoting healing, always with the aim of enhancing physiotherapy treatments such as exercise and rehabilitation techniques to promote recovery and improve quality of life.
Acupuncture can reduce pain by stimulating the brain and spinal cord to produce natural pain-relieving chemicals and assist the body's healing processes in order to promote repair and rehabilitation.
Acupuncture can be used to treat a wide range of conditions and the points used will be selected to specifically address the patient’s needs.
