Pilates
Pilates
Pilates is a highly effective low impact conditioning exercise programme which targets the deep postural muscles of the abdomen and spine to improve overall central core stability and posture.
Pilates is more than just exercise. It aims to use normal body movements to increase your postural awareness, improve strength and teach you how correct movements feel. The focus is on quality positions to create a strong, toned and functioning body. Research has shown that these types of exercises can be effective in recovering from a number of medical conditions including some types of low back pain.
Benefits include:-
- improved posture
- improved flexibility
- improved muscle tone and strength
- reduced stress
- improved circulation and bretahing control
- improved joint mobility
- reduce the recurrence of certain types of back pain
Elaine is a fully qualified Pilates instructor with APPI and will be running classes in the Dunoon area. She is also available for one-to-one Pilates sessions either at her clinic or at your home.
